Visit of the NAAC Committee
Khashaba Apang Krida Prashikshan Sanstha’s Commerce and Science College was evaluated by a three-member NAAC committee for two days after successful completion of the IIQA and SSR stages. The committee comprised Prof. Jaladi Ravi (Chairman), Prof. Singaravel Ramaiyan (Coordinator), and Prof. Udayan Misra (Member).
The committee was formally welcomed by the college management and administration. On the first day, a PPT presentation on the institution and NAAC process was delivered, followed by inspection of departments, laboratories, library, computer labs, sports, and NSS units. Interactions were held with students and non-teaching staff, and SSR documents were verified.
On the second day, the committee reviewed remaining facilities, initiatives undertaken over the last five years, re-examined selected SSR documents, and presented its report.
One Day Workshop on “Hands on Training of AI Tools : Useful for Teachers, Researchers and Librarians”
Considering the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in academics, a state-level workshop on Artificial Intelligence was organized for professors, researchers, and librarians. The workshop was jointly conducted by Commerce and Science College of K.A.K.P. Institute, Vivekananda Foundation, and the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, KBC North Maharashtra University, on the occasion of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s birth anniversary and National Librarian’s Day.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ashutosh Patil, Dr. G.K. Patnaik, Dr. V.S. Kanchi, Principal Dr. Kishor Pathak, and Coordinator Prof. Hitesh Brijwasi. The program began with garlanding Dr. Ranganathan’s portrait and the singing of Vande Mataram.
In his keynote address, Dr. G.K. Patnaik emphasized that Artificial Intelligence is the need of the hour and will play a vital role in the future of education.
First Session
In the first session of the program, Dr. V.S. Kanchi explained the importance of Artificial Intelligence in practical research, teaching, and library management. He also clarified what exactly Artificial Intelligence is, along with the purpose, techniques, and structure behind the creation of AI tools.During the first session, guidance was provided by Dr. Vijay Shrinath Kanchi
Second Session
In this session, Mr. Pravin Sonawane, Principal of Kashinath Palod C.B.S.C. School, explained how Artificial Intelligence will be useful in the lives of common people in the coming times, along with the possible benefits and drawbacks of its use. He also provided detailed guidance on the precautions to be taken while using mobile phones and shared information about the Artificial Intelligence tools that are essential in the field of education.During the second session, guidance was provided by Mr. Pravin Sonawane.
Third Session
During the practical session, participants were given hands-on demonstrations of various Artificial Intelligence tools used in teaching, research, and library management, with separate computers arranged for practice.
In the valedictory session, all participants were awarded certificates. Over sixty professors, researchers, and librarians from across the state attended the workshop. Prof. Hitesh Brijwasi was felicitated with a memento for his contribution to the college’s NAAC accreditation process.
The program was compered by Dr. Vaijayanti Chaudhary and Mr. Hitendra Sarode and successfully organized under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Kishor Pathak and Administrative Officer Mr. Dinesh Thakre, with the support of the organizing team.
Successful Organization of the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Tournament
The college successfully hosted the Jalgaon Division Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Tournament for men and women under Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University. The tournament featured 13 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams and was inaugurated by Hon. Dr. Kishor Pathak.
Matches were held on an indoor synthetic court for the first time, ensuring player safety and smooth conduct with transparent officiating.
In the women’s category, Nutan Maratha College won first place, while in the men’s category,Moolji Jetha College secured the top position. The prize distribution was held in the presence of dignitaries, and Principal Dr. Kishor Pathak expressed readiness to host larger university-level tournaments in the future.
Reading religious scriptures strengthens modernity
“Reading religious scriptures strengthens modernity,” said Dr. Hitesh Brijwasi during a Book Exhibition organized on the occasion of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s birth anniversary and National Librarian’s Day. The exhibition highlighted Dr. Ranganathan’s foundational contribution to Library and Information Science and the role of libraries in building an ideal society.
The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Kishor Pathak after garlanding Dr. Ranganathan’s portrait, in the presence of Headmaster Mr. Santosh Chaudhary and Vice-Headmistress Dr. Harsha Khadke. Librarian Dr. Hitesh Brijwasi introduced the exhibited books and shared insights from the Ramayana and Vedas. The exhibition was well attended by students, faculty, and staff
Participation in the Avishkar Competition
On behalf of Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, the Avishkar competition is organized every year to promote research. In this competition, the college librarian, Mr. Hitesh Gopal Brijwasi, presented a poster on the topic “AI in Academia: Dos and Don’ts.”
This poster presentation was selected for the second round of the competition, and he was congratulated on behalf of the college for this achievement.
National Conference on Library and Information Science organized by Khashaba College
On 4th January 2025, a National Conference on “Reimagining Libraries: The Future of Traditional and Modern Synergy” was organized by Khashaba Apang Krida Prashikshan Sanstha’s Commerce and Science College, Jalgaon, in collaboration with Vivekananda Foundation and KBC North Maharashtra University.
Chaired by Mr. Rajendra Nannavare, the conference featured Dr. Mohan Kherde (President, ILA) as Chief Guest and Prof. Dr. Rajendra Kumbhar as Keynote Speaker. The program began with homage to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan and the release of a special research issue.
The conference emphasized the evolving role of librarians, Indian knowledge traditions, and reading culture. Research papers were presented in both online and offline modes. Best paper awards were presented, and retired librarians, promoted faculty, and Ph.D. holders were felicitated.
A total of 92 research papers were published, with participation from librarians and researchers across India.
